Nominate a property for the Forests and Farms Conservation Lands Program
The first nomination period is now open and will run through February 28, 2026.
Nominate a property you believe supports the conservation values of the Forests and Farms Conservation Lands Program, including the preservation of drinking water, wildlife habitat, forests, and farms.
Note: You do not need to be the owner of a property to nominate it. However, no property will be considered without the knowledge and approval of the property owner. If a property is nominated without the property owner’s signature, county staff will contact the owner, which may delay consideration of that property.

What to expect after you nominate a property
All nominated properties will be evaluated using the scoring rubric form: Scoring Rubric Form (PDF) .
Nominated properties will be reviewed by the Land Conservation Committee (LCC). Properties that best meet the conservation values of the program will be considered for recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners, who will make the final decisions regarding which properties to acquire.
You can follow the progress of nominated properties by attending or watching LCC meetings. All LCC meetings are open to the public and are posted on the county’s meeting calendar. The LCC meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the County Administration Building, 477 Houston Street, Green Cove Springs.
