Driveway Permit

Any connection, replacement, or repair to a driveway within Clay County rights-of-way requires a driveway permit.

Driveway permit applications are accepted online through the Clay County Citizen Access Portal .

Through the portal, users can create an account, apply for a permit, pay permit fees, and check the status of a permit application.

Driveway Permit Fees

  • New Driveway: $175.00
  • Driveway Change or Upgrade: $150.00
  • Driveway Exemption or Existing Driveway: $75.00
  • Driveway Re-inspection Fee: $75.00

What is the driveway permit process?
  1. Apply online through the Citizen Access Portal.
  2. Pay the permit fee.
  3. An inspector will review the application.
  4. If no issues are found, the permit will be issued.
  5. Construction may begin after the permit is issued.
  6. An inspector will complete the final inspection, approve the work, and close the permit.
