The Board of County Commissioners has established policies for how Code Enforcement cases are handled. These policies include the following:
- Complaints are accepted only when submitted using a Violation/Complaint Form. If you wish to submit photographs as evidence with your application, you must also include an affidavit of evidence. Download the affidavit here: Affidavit of Evidence .
- Cases will not be sent to the Special Magistrate until they have been pending for at least two months, unless the Board of County Commissioners directs that they be considered earlier.
- If citizens who have accrued fines wish to request a lien reduction, they must present their request to the Board of County Commissioners. Staff will provide a written recommendation but will not present the case.
- Code Enforcement typically receives 10โ15 research requests each day from real estate agents, title insurance agents, and others regarding pending cases on properties. A fee of $20 per request is charged for this service.
