First Coast Connector Project

Clay County is constructing a new segment of the First Coast Connector between State Road 23 and Maryland Avenue to improve regional mobility, support future growth, and enhance transportation connectivity.

Project Overview

  • Design and construct a 3.3-mile segment of new two-lane divided roadway
  • Connect State Road 23 to Maryland Avenue
  • Include a grass median, sidewalks, and bicycle lanes
  • Improve regional transportation connectivity and mobility
  • Construction began in Fall 2023
  • Completed: Fall 2025
  • Project budget: $43.3 million
