Summary
The Clay County Historic Preservation Board, also known as the CCHPB, is an advisory board to the Clay County Board of County Commissioners on matters pertaining to Clay County history.
The board works to preserve historical materials illustrating the history of Clay County, preserve the narratives of early pioneers, and collect materials pertaining to the county's Native American tribes, wars, soldiers, schools, and churches.
Meetings and Resources
The board meets on the first Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
Review Article 12 of the Clay County Land Development Code for regulations pertaining to the board.
Board Information
- Members appointed to represent a district must live within that district.
- No more than three at-large members may reside in the same district.
- The Historic Preservation Board was reorganized on February 22, 2011.
- Members serve five-year terms and may serve one additional term at the discretion of the Clay County Board of County Commissioners.
