The North Florida TPO Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is seeking individuals interested in serving. The NFTPO CAC, as defined in Florida Statute 339.175 (6) (e) (1), provides an opportunity for citizens to participate in the transportation planning process. Members are appointed via many channels: whenever possible, from the six citizen planning advisory committees (CPACs) for the City of Jacksonville; by the Clay, Nassau, and St. Johns Board of County Commissioners; and from local neighborhood groups, the business community, and other advocacy groups, such as environmental interests.
The CAC serves as a forum for citizens and citizen groups to bring issues directly related to transportation or air quality to the attention of the TPO and its staff and to provide the citizen perspective. Clay County has four at-large seats on the CAC, including one representative for the town of Orange Park.
For citizens interested in the CAC, the membership application is posted on the website. The CAC meets 10 times a year, the first Wednesday of the month, except January and July, at 2 p.m. at the TPO offices, 980 N. Jefferson Street in Jacksonville.
