Commissioner Invitations

Clay County Commissioners frequently receive official invitations to attend various events in our communities in their elected capacity. Occasionally, more than one County Commissioner may attend and participate in these events.

Members of a public board or commission are not prohibited under the Sunshine Law from meeting together socially as long as matters which may come before them in their official capacity are not discussed.

The Board members who attend will not take any action or take any vote at these events, and these events are not official meetings of the Board of County Commissioners. Depending on the event, it may or may not be open to the public.
