Clay County Board of County Commissioners
Goals and Objectives
The goals and objectives of the Clay County Board of County Commissioners directly relate to its mission to provide for the quality of life, safety, and health of the county's citizens. The Commission is committed to a vision of a better tomorrow and the best possible today.
The Board of County Commissioners is the lawmaking body of the county that has operated under the Home Rule charter since 1991. Charter powers address self-government, which cannot conflict with general law or special law approved by the voters of the county. The county is governed by a five-member Board elected as single-member districts for four years.
The Board annually adopts a budget for county operations and funds capital programs. County services include parks and recreation, animal services, libraries, public works, and more. Information about these services and frequently asked questions can be found throughout this site. We invite you to learn more about what Clay County has to offer.
