Contains a total of 23,995 acres, 12,500 of which were purchased under the Conservation and Recreation Lands (CARL) Program. This state forest is open during daylight hours for swimming, hiking, bicycling, canoeing, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. The forest is open to regulated hunting and fishing under the direction of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the forest closes to all other recreational activities during hunting periods.
