How to Obtain a Siding Permit

Submission Process:

The following are our requirements for a siding permit application:

  1. A copy of the recorded deed showing ownership of the property. You may obtain a copy of your deed from the Recording Department in the Clay County Courthouse or by visiting the Clerk of the Court’s site: www.clayclerk.com.
  2. Fill out the Building Permit application (See button at left).

Important Notes:

  1. Required inspections for siding permits include the following.The first inspection is to see nailing for sheathing. The final inspection shall be performed upon completion of all work.
    1. Nailing (code BIL)
    2. Final (code BFF)
  2. A Notice of Commencement shall be required on any job with a value equal to, or greater than $2,500. Please bring a picture identification, such as a driver’s license, if you require the services of a notary.

Approval Process:

Once your permit has been processed, you will receive an email confirmation that the permit has been approved or denied.  If payment was made online, he approved plan packet shall be available at our office location for pickup.  If the payment was made by mail or in person, you will receive your permit upon payment.
