Camp Chowenwaw Park in Green Cove Springs, Florida, offers a variety of accommodations and facilities for visitors, including cabins, campsites, day-use buildings, and a seasonal pool. To ensure a pleasant experience, the park has established specific rules and fees for each amenity.
Cabins and Campsites: The park features several cabin clusters and campgrounds, each with its own capacity and amenities. For instance, the Ahwenassa cabins accommodate 2 to 4 people per cabin and include air conditioning, heating, a centrally located bathhouse, and a dining hall equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, and stove. Tent camping is available at sites like Hickory Flats, which offers eight campsites, each accommodating up to six people. These sites share a bathhouse and a kitchen with essential appliances.
Day-Use Buildings: Facilities such as the Orange Blossom Building are available for events and gatherings. This building can host up to 30 people and includes amenities like air conditioning, heating, electricity, restrooms, and a kitchen equipped with a stove, refrigerator, and microwave . Rentals are for the building only; outdoor areas remain open to the public.
Pool Access: The park's swimming pool is open seasonally from May through September. A fee is required for all day-use visitors wishing to access the pool. Swimming in Otter Springs (pond) or Black Creek is prohibited.
General Rules and Fees: Park hours are from 8 a.m. to sunset, and non-campers must vacate the park before sunset. Overnight campers can check in between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., with check-out by 11 a.m. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Each campsite or cabin has specific capacity limits for both people and vehicles . A 25% non-refundable deposit is required when reserving entire clusters or day-use buildings. Cancellations made in writing at least 30 days before the reservation date are eligible for a refund .
