Digital Materials: Libby and hoopla

Clay County Public Libraries uses Libby and hoopla to provide access to digital materials such as eBooks, audiobooks, music, magazines, movies, and more.

Check-out limits

  • Libby: Up to 5 digital items at a time

  • hoopla: Up to 6 digital items per month

Loan periods

Libby

  • eBooks and audiobooks: 14 days

  • Magazines (instant access): 7 days

hoopla

  • eBooks, audiobooks, and comics: 21 days

  • BingePass and music: 7 days

Holds (Libby)

  • Place up to 5 holds for eBooks and audiobooks.

Renewals

  • Digital materials may be renewed if no other patrons are waiting.

Automatic returns

  • Digital materials borrowed through Libby and hoopla automatically return at the end of the loan period, so no late fees are incurred.

What you need

  • Patrons will need a valid Library Card number and PIN to create free Libby and hoopla accounts.

Early returns

  • Digital materials may be returned before their due dates. Be sure to remove the item from your device after it has been returned.

Streaming with hoopla

  • Stream content online using Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TV, Roku, and Chromecast, or download titles to your Apple, Android, or Kindle Fire mobile device.
