Evacuation Zones

Evacuation zones identify areas that may be ordered to evacuate during a hurricane because of the risk of storm surge.

Clay County evacuation zones are labeled A through E, including the North Prong and South Prong of Black Creek. Areas shown in white on the evacuation map are not located within an evacuation zone.

Important

All mobile homes and manufactured homes are considered Zone A, regardless of where they are located in Clay County.

Flood Zones

Flood zones identify the long-term flood risk for a property using Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mapping.

  • High-risk zones have a 1% annual chance of flooding (100-year flood zone).
  • Moderate-risk zones have a 0.2% annual chance of flooding (500-year flood zone).
  • Low-risk zones are generally at higher elevations and have a lower flood risk.
Did You Know?

The terms 100-year and 500-year flood zones describe the annual probability of flooding—not how often flooding occurs. A property can experience multiple floods within just a few years.
