Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a major cause of death in the United States, killing more than 350,000 people each year. About 60% of people who suffer from SCA do not get medical help until paramedics arrive. For every minute that passes without treatment, a victim's chance of survival goes down by 10%.
You can save lives by having an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in your place of worship or business. This allows you to help your neighbors and customers during an SCA emergency before help arrives.
Clay County is providing local organizations FREE AED kits that include Narcan. There are no costs for installing or maintaining these life-saving devices!

Narcan
Having both Narcan (naloxone) and an AED (automated external defibrillator) on hand is a valuable step in promoting safety. These life-saving tools serve different but vital roles in emergencies. Narcan effectively reverses opioid overdoses, while an AED can provide critical support during cardiac arrest. By ensuring that both are readily available, we enhance our ability to respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies in your place of worship or workplaces, creating a safer environment for everyone.
