Broadband connectivity projects
In 2022, Clay County commissioners voted to approve an agreement with Comcast to extend broadband service into areas of Clay County that lack internet service. The system is owned, operated, and maintained by Comcast.
We worked with Comcast to determine existing systems in the areas of our county that lacked service. From there, we determined how to obtain the largest residential impact within the constraints of the project. As the network expands, so will connectivity. The goal is to eliminate the digital divide through this process.
The county's connectivity projects are complete.

Completed county projects
The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) funded an expansion of Comcast’s cable system to provide internet service to portions of Clay Hill and Keystone Heights. The county divided the project into two areas (see maps below).
Broadband expansion area 2 in Clay Hill and Keystone Heights.
The Office of Broadband awarded Comcast a grant to continue the county's broadband project. This portion encompasses the areas of Keystone Heights, Clay Hill,
Middleburg, McRae, and Virginia Village.
Comcast has received multiple grants and is continuing the work of connecting residents in outlying areas to high-speed internet service.
We will update this page and our community as this project continues to expand.
