Programs and services at Clay County Animal Services

Clay County Animal Services offers many programs to help animals and the people who love them.

Lost & found

If your pet is missing, we can help you find them. If you find a lost pet, bring them to us so we can help them get home.

Rabies & microchip clinic

We offer low-cost rabies shots and microchips to keep your pets safe. These clinics happen on the first Tuesday of every month from 3–5 p.m.

Surrendering & rehoming

If you can't keep your pet, we can help find them a new home. We also offer advice and resources to help you keep your pet if possible.

Trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR)

We help care for community cats by trapping them, getting them fixed and vaccinated, and returning them to their area.

Enforcement

Our officers make sure animals are treated kindly and follow the rules. They help with things like lost pets, animal bites, and animals in danger.

Rescues

We work with rescue groups to help animals find loving homes.

Satellite adoption centers

We have adoption centers in different places to help more animals find homes.

Short-term fostering

You can help by taking care of an animal for a short time. This gives them a break from the shelter and helps them get ready for a new home.

Hobby breeders

We provide information and guidelines for people who breed pets as a hobby.

Disaster preparedness

We help you plan how to keep your pets safe during emergencies like storms.
