Welcome!

Thank you for helping foster kittens! You are giving them a safe place to grow until they find their forever homes.

🏑 What is fostering?

Fostering means you take care of kittens in your home for a short time. Some kittens are too young to be adopted. Others might need help getting healthy. You help them get ready for adoption.

βœ… What You Will Do

  • Give food and clean water

  • Keep the kittens clean and warm

  • Help them learn to play and feel safe

  • Bring them to the vet if they get sick

  • Bring them back when it's time for adoption

🧰 Supplies you need

  • Kitten food and bottles (if they are babies)

  • Litter box and litter

  • Soft blankets or towels

  • Toys for playtime

  • Carrier for travel

πŸ’– Keeping kittens healthy

  • Wash your hands before and after handling kittens

  • Keep their space clean

  • Watch for signs of sickness:

    • Sneezing or runny nose

    • Not eating

    • Sleeping too much

    • Diarrhea (runny poop)

πŸ“ž If you see these signs, call the foster team at (904) 529-4733.

🍽️ Feeding kittens

Bottle babies (0–4 weeks):

  • Need to eat kitten formula every few hours

  • Keep them warmβ€”cold kittens can’t eat!

Older kittens (5+ weeks):

  • Start eating wet food

  • Always have clean water and a litter box nearby

🎯 Helping kittens grow

  • Play with them every day to help them trust people

  • Gently pet them and let them explore safely

  • Talk to them with a calm voice

πŸ‘‹ Saying goodbye

When the kittens are old enough and healthy, they will go up for adoption. It can be hard to say goodbye, but you helped them find a forever family.

You can foster again and help more kittens! 🐱
