Clay County offers convenient access to transportation by land, air, water, and rail. With major highways, an airport, port access, and rail service, the county is well positioned for continued economic growth.

Clay County is also an attractive place to live and work due to its strong schools, safe neighborhoods, and low crime rates. Over the past 20 years, the county’s population has grown from approximately 140,000 residents to more than 190,000. Growth is expected to continue, with projections approaching 300,000 residents within the next 25 years.

The Board of County Commissioners works in partnership with local organizations to promote Clay County as a competitive destination for businesses. Key partners include the Clay County Chamber of Commerce, the Clay County Development Authority, and the Clay County Economic Development Corporation.

The Clay County Chamber of Commerce is a member-focused nonprofit organization that supports and advocates for local businesses. The Chamber offers educational programs, networking events, and resources designed to help businesses grow and succeed.

Clay County Economic Development Corporation

The Clay County Economic Development Corporation (Clay EDC) serves as the primary contact for businesses and industries interested in locating or expanding in Clay County.

The Clay EDC assists companies throughout the development process, including identifying potential sites or buildings, coordinating site preparation, connecting businesses with construction professionals, supporting incentive applications, and assisting with planning through project completion.
