The County disaster debris contractors arrived today, they are getting set up and are starting to get out into various areas of the county. We will be doing other passes, please do not worry if all of your debris is not out after the first pass. Make sure that all types of debris are separated, such as electronics, large appliances, vegetative, construction debris and household garbage. If it is mixed, it WILL NOT be picked up. Do not stack your debris around mail boxes, cable boxes, or other types of road side structures. Please click the title for further information.

The county in partnership with the American Red Cross, still currently has a host shelter open to residents impacted by Hurricane Irma. The shelter can provide you food, and sheltering while we begin the recovery process. The shelter is at the Middleburg Baptist Church, 2645 Blanding Blvd. Middleburg, Fl. 32068
FEMA representatives will be at the Middleburg Public Library, 2245 Aster Ave, Middleburg, FL 32068, Thursday, Sept. 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to assist local residents who need to register for assistance.

Clay County is preparing to execute debris pick-up related to Hurricane Irma. Recycling and curbside service (normal household garbage) will resume Thursday, Sept. 14 and continue on the normal schedule. No yard trash will be picked up with normal curbside service. Shelter Information: Clay County is consolidating shelter operations. Special Needs Shelter: Thrasher-Horne Center, 283 College Dr., Orange Park, FL 32065 Clay County’s General Population Shelter operations has been consolidated to Orange Park High School, 2300 Kingsley Ave., Orange Park, FL 32073. This shelter allows pets.

Clay County is closing all boat ramps until Monday. There is still significant debris in the water. This is for your own safety and for the safety of our first responders.

Clay County Fire & Rescue and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of out of state partners, FL National Guard and U.S. Coast Guard, rescued more than 300 people and more than 70 pets in 50 hours.

Fuel: Clay County officials are expressing their concern related to our county’s fuel supply. Many of our local fuel stations get their fuel from sources ship fuel to a Florida port. All of Florida’s major ports have sustained damage from Hurricane Irma and currently are not fully operational. All residents should use your fuel wisely.
