Clay County Road and Lane Closure Update
CLAY COUNTY ROAD AND LANE CLOSURE UPDATE
July 4 through July 10, 2020
Ongoing County Projects
Haven Road in Green Cove Springs- There will be a full detour between Orion Road and Pringle Circle for a drainpipe replacement project that is expected to start mid-July. The project will take approximately 6 weeks to complete.
Lake Shore Drive North- Intermediate lane closure on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for utility installation.
Wesley Road in Lake Asbury- There will be a full detour between Dow Court and Branscomb Road for a drainpipe replacement project that is expected to start mid-July. The project will take approximately 6 weeks to complete.
Williams Park Road- Located at 240 Williams Park Road in Green Cove Springs. Single lane closures will be in effect weekdays. The boat launch will be closed for the duration of the project.
Blanding Boulevard from Coppergate Drive to Old Jennings Road- Daytime northbound lane closures Monday, July 6 and Tuesday, July 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for utility work.
Governors Creek Bridge- FDOT project to add sidewalks and make other improvements to U.S. 17 on the Governors Creek Bridge is expected to begin construction on July 6. Project is expected to take place during both daytime and overnight hours, Monday through Friday, with periodic lane closures. No lane closures on U.S. 17 will be permitted between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. seven days a week.
Springbank Road- Springbank Road in Penney Farms will have a nightly detour Monday, June 29 through Wednesday, July 1 & Monday, July 6, to place beams for the new SR-23 bridge. The detour for Springbank Road is Saunders Road to SR-16.
SR 21 between Keystone Heights and Melrose- Resurfacing project to begin in May 2020 on the 6.5 mile stretch between the Putnam County line, just north of Melrose to north of Commercial Circle in Keystone Heights. The project will include shoulder widening, sidewalk and drainage improvements, and other incidental construction. Motorists should anticipate daytime and nighttime construction activities throughout the course of the project. Construction is expected to be completed Spring 2021.
First Coast Expressway Work FDOT
Blanding Boulevard from Black Creek bridge to Allie Murray Road- Daytime southbound lane closures Monday through July 11 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. for road work.
Blanding Boulevard from Black Creek bridge to County Road 220- Nighttime northbound lane closures weeknights from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. for road work.
County Road 209 east of U.S. 17- Daytime lane closures with flaggers weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for road work.
Sandridge Road from State Road 23 to Rolling View Boulevard- Location is just east of Rolling View Blvd. Flaggers will be in place for intermittent traffic interruptions in the east and west bound lanes Monday, July 6 through Saturday, July 11, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to allow construction vehicles to cross Sandridge Road.
Springbank Road just south of State Road 16- Daytime road closures with flaggers weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for road work. Follow detour.
U.S. 17 south of Green Cove Springs- Daytime lane closures weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and nighttime lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for road work.
