GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, Clay County is inviting residents, businesses and organizations to become part of a permanent tribute to the nation's founding.
The county is building a Charters of Freedom display at the Historic Triangle in Green Cove Springs. The monument will feature steel-etched replicas of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, generously donated by Foundation Forward Inc.
The display will also include a time capsule, creating a place where future generations can reflect on the founding principles of freedom, democracy and civic responsibility.
Individuals, families, civic groups, nonprofits, and businesses can support the project through sponsorship opportunities. Every sponsor will have their name placed in the monument's time capsule, with additional recognition available at higher sponsorship levels.
Sponsorship levels include:
- Fife & Drum – $100
- Minutemen – $500
- Liberty – $1,000
- Patriot – $2,500
- Founders – $5,000
- Independence – $10,000
- Freedom – $25,000
The Charters of Freedom display will serve as a permanent destination for education, reflection and patriotism while commemorating the nation's semiquincentennial.
