Applications open for Clay County scholarship

The Clay County Board of County Commissioners is encouraging students to apply for its Post-Secondary Education Scholarship, sponsored by Waste Management. The scholarship is available to Clay County high school seniors who are pursuing higher education at two- or four-year colleges or technical schools.

The application deadline is March 31, 2026. Eligibility Requirements

  • The student must be a high school senior and a Clay County resident.
  • The student must be accepted into the post-secondary program for which they are seeking funding.

Award Criteria

  • Applicants can either fill out the scholarship application form online or download the form to print and fill it out.
  • Completed applications must be emailed to claygrants@claycountygov.com or delivered to the Clay County Grants Department, 420 College Drive, Suite 107, Middleburg, FL, by the close of business on March 31, 2026.
  • Students must complete a scholarship application and submit:
    • A short personal essay (250โ€“500 words)
    • A copy of their current school transcript
    • One letter of recommendation
  • School transcripts, letters of recommendation, and participation in community service and extracurricular activities may all be considered during the scholarship selection process.
  • Scholarships will cover or partially cover tuition costs only.
