County Commission receives update on forestry services and fire protection
Florida Forest Service representatives presented their annual report to the Clay County Commission. County Forester Carlton Scott highlighted resources available to landowners, including forest management plans, stewardship certifications, and land conservation services.

County infrastructure projects progressing across roads, trails, and facilities
The Bonded Transportation Program administrator shared updates on major infrastructure projects throughout the County, including work on CR 218, CR 209, CR 220, CR 315, and the final phases of Cathedral Oak Parkway.
The Capital Projects update covered progress on the new fire stations provided by the public safety bond, upgrades at the Clay County Fairgrounds, repairs to the Black Creek Bike Trail boardwalk, and the Middleburg Sheriff Substation doors and card readers.
The county's Engineering director also reported on key efforts, including the Lakeshore Drive/Old Hard Road intersection improvements, CR 220 widening, Spencer Industrial Drive, dirt road paving, and the Live Oak Lane Greenway Trail project.

County stormwater plan offers solutions through flood modeling
Consulting firm Jones Edmunds updated Commissioners on the Countywide Stormwater Master Plan, which aims to address key challenges such as stricter water quality regulations, population growth, aging infrastructure, and shifting tidal and rainfall patterns.
Using collected base data, the team developed a detailed stormwater model to simulate system performance. This model helped create a high-resolution countywide inundation map and informed recommendations for stormwater projects and maintenance to align with the County's Comprehensive Plan.
