Board approves 2026 legislative priorities and funding requests

Commissioners approved the updated Legislative Priorities and Appropriations palm card, reflecting changes from the last BCC meeting.  Staff will now finalize project proposals to present to the legislative delegation for support during the upcoming session in Tallahassee. Commissioners approve Green Cove Springs Library roof bid

Commissioners approved awarding the Green Cove Springs Library roofing project to Legacy in Action, Construction, Roofing, Dock, and Marine in the amount of $105,000. Of the five bids received, Legacy in Action matched the lowest bid under the County’s Local Preference Policy for local businesses. The project includes removing roof layers as needed, inspecting and repairing the underlying structure, and installing a new modified bitumen roofing system in compliance with Florida Building Code and manufacturer standards. Work must be completed within 90 days of the agreement's effective date. The award becomes final after the 72-hour protest period. To hear the discussion, listen at the 23:59 mark of the meeting.

 

Solid waste assessment rates to remain unchanged for FY 2025-2026

Commissioners held public hearings to consider the Annual Rate Resolutions for the residential solid waste disposal and collection assessments for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. The Board approved keeping both rates the same as last year. The Solid Waste Disposal Assessment will remain at $96. The Solid Waste Collection Assessment will stay at $262.
