GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla -- High school seniors across Clay County are invited to apply for a new opportunity for a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like to be a county commissioner through a new Commissioner For A Day program.
Launched to promote civic engagement and inspire the next generation of leaders, the program will give five selected students the chance to spend a full workday shadowing Commissioner John Sgromolo on Tuesday, September 23.
Participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at the daily responsibilities of a county commissioner and how public safety, law enforcement, and county leaders work together. They'll also get a an inside look at the many departments that fall under the county's government -- from Emergency Management to Animal Services.
Eligibility & Application Details
Interested students must be high school seniors and submit an online application, including a 1-2 minute video answering a prompt.
