Waste Management, Clay County BCC award scholarships to nine high school seniors, two 4-H students

Waste Management and Commissioners recognized those students at Tuesday’s Board of County Commissioners meeting.

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — Waste Management joined with the Clay County Board of County Commissioners to award $60,000 in educational scholarships to nine Clay County high school seniors and two 4-H students.

Danielle Ackerson, Middleburg High School

Dereyon Bell, Clay High School

Alexandra Bennett, Clay High School

Jack Buchholz, Ridgeview High School

Dylan Collins, Clay High School

Tyler Collins, Clay High School

Braden Glavin, Clay High School

Keira Slater, Middleburg High School

Abigail Wilson, Clay High School

Ryan Kelly, W.E. Cherry

Benjamin Mejias, Clay Charter Academy

The students received the scholarships based on their academic performance and grade point average, community service, and a personal essay.

“WM is extremely pleased to be partnering with Clay County to honor these eleven deserving students with scholarships,” said Senior Account Executive Greg Huntington. “This is a significant opportunity to assist our deserving local students in continuing their education.

“We are proud of our top-ranked school district here in Clay County,” said Commission Chair Betsy Condon, “These outstanding students represent just some of those bright minds we have here in our county, and we congratulate them and wish them all the best as they work towards their goals and dreams.”
