Commissioners marked the occasion with a proclamation honoring our Vietnam War heroes and heard the personal perspective on what the U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War meant to a local Vietnamese family. County Approves 2045 Comprehensive Plan Update – Commissioners held a public hearing and approved the adoption of the 2045 Clay County Comprehensive Plan update, as required by Florida law every seven years. The update incorporates policies that address changes in state law since the last update, such as HB1379, which added requirements designed to reduce water pollutants and provide a feasibility assessment for sanitary sewer services in certain developments with existing septic systems. The County is currently meeting its nutrient reduction goals, and no additional projects are required at this time. Other updates are textual and do not affect any property land use designations or density. You can view the 2045 Comprehensive Plan update and supporting documentation attached to the online agenda.
