CredibleMind- elevating mental wellness for all
The Florida Department of Health in Clay County presented CredibleMind, emphasizing the importance of mental health support and services within our community. A person's mental health significantly impacts their emotional, psychological, and social well-being. With suicide ranking among the top ten leading causes of death in the United States, it is crucial to prioritize mental health in our communities to promote a healthy, resilient, and thriving society. Achieving this requires a collective effort involving individuals, communities, healthcare systems, and policymakers to support mental well-being at every stage of life. The CredibleMind program aims to enhance coordinated behavioral health services and resources through a free online platform with expert-rated and vetted videos, podcasts, apps, books, and articles in one accessible location. Everyone is encouraged to visit the platform at http://clay.crediblemind.com to learn more and utilize the free expert resources. You can watch the presentation starting at the 20:14 minute mark.
Using Community Development Block Grants to serve our community
Commissioners received an update on the County’s Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report, which details progress toward the goals of the FY 23-24 Community Development Block Grant Program. Funding was allocated to three main project types to benefit the community. Primary projects completed to support infrastructure improvements included the paving of Dennison and Baylor Avenues in the High Ridge Estates community of Keystone Heights, positively impacting approximately 1,566 individuals. Sixteen home rehabilitation projects were approved for FY 23-24, with nine completed. The remaining seven projects are on track for completion in FY 24-25. Additionally, three neighborhood cleanup projects were completed in High Ridge Estates, the Tanglewood community, and Tanglewood Park, benefiting around 6,000 people. Commissioners approved the plan, which will now be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by the December 28 deadline.
