GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla -- County leaders are dressing up in green to match the emerald tones lighting the sky throughout our county this week. It’s all a way to show support for our country's veterans as part of Operation Green Light for Veterans, which runs from November 4 to November 11.

It's an initiative of the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers. The goal is to let our veterans know they are seen, appreciated, and supported.

We encourage everyone in our county to join in by displaying a green light outside your home or business this week through Veterans Day. When you pass one of the lit buildings, pause for a moment and remember our nation's heroes and the incredible service and sacrifice they have made for our great nation.

At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, November 12, several county leaders will also don their green outfits to show their solidarity. 

Here in Clay County, pride for our country and respect for our veterans runs deep. Our goal is to create an unmistakable show of support for the men and women who dedicated their lives to our freedoms.
