FCC Environmental Services transition plan update - Senior leadership with FCC Environmental gave an update on their transition plan for beginning the new garbage and yard waste collection service in Clay County on October 1. Fiscal Year 24-25 Schedule of Fees and Services approved- Commissioners adopted a resolution for the Fiscal Year 24-25 Clay County Schedule of Fees and Services. The changes effective October 1, 2024, include language edits covering credit card processing and facility rentals, and fees affected by County Ordinances and Florida Statutes. Changes to take effect on January 1, 2025, include certain building department fee increases that are not required by County Ordinances or Florida Statutes. Final public hearing held for FY 2024-2025 final millage rate and budget- Commissioners held the final public hearing to consider the adoption of the final millage and budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025. There is no change in the millage rates for the new fiscal year for operating county services, unincorporated services MSTU fund, Law Enforcement MSTU fund, Fire Control MSTU fund, Lake Asbury MSBD, and Challenger Center MSTU. Two resolutions were approved during the public hearing, including the adoption of the Final Millage rate for FY 24-25, and the Final Budget for the BCC and Lake Asbury MSBD for FY24-25. Clay County Utility Authority Board of Supervisors welcomes two new members - Commissioners reappointed Michael McNees to seat five of the Clay County Utility Authority Board of Supervisors retaining his experience and providing continuity to the Board. His reappointment was recommended by CCUA leadership. Commissioners considered four applicants for open seats six and seven and appointed Michael Bourre and David McCall to those positions. Michael Bourre currently serves on the Planning Commission and has an extensive background in the building and construction industry. David McCall has a firefighting background, worked for the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, and was a member of the former Clay County Code Enforcement Board.
