Home for the holidays: pet adopters and foster families needed

Post Date:12/06/2022 5:00 PM

The kennels at Clay County Animal Services are full and they need the community’s help to find loving, forever homes for some great pets. The holidays are a time for family and friends to celebrate together and a great time to open your home to an animal in need. Together we can give these animals a home for the holidays and open space in the shelter to help even more homeless pets.

Shelter staff can help your family find just the right dog or cat, so stop by and see all the animals just waiting for their new forever family.  All cats and dogs available for adoption have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

If you are unable to take on a pet full-time, consider joining our foster crew and bring some holiday cheer to dogs, cats, kittens, or puppies until an adoptive family can be found.

You can visit all the adoptable dogs and cats in person at the shelter. Potential adopters can even bring their dog for a meet and greet in a fenced play yard at the shelter to make sure they are compatible. The shelter is located at 3984 State Road 16 West in Green Cove Springs and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You can view all adoptable dogs and cats online at https://www.claycountygov.com/community/animal-services/adoption or call (904) 529-4107 for more information on adoptions.
