Yard Waste Drop-off Fees Suspended: At the Nov 9 BCC Meeting, Commissioners voted to suspend the yard waste drop-off fees at the Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Management Facility from November 11, through November 21 to help residents with their residential storm cleanup.
Reporting Property Damage: If you have damages to your house or another structure, or flooding in your home, please call the call center at 877-252-9362 to report it. If you have photos, please email them, your name, and the address to Socialmedia@claycountygov.com.
Please don't go out on the piers and docks to take pictures. They're slick and unsafe.
Flood Alert: Water levels are rising along the St. Johns River and Doctors Lake which are higher than we saw during Hurricane Ian. High tide was at 2:30 and it will take some time for the water to recede.
Residents who need help to leave the affected area can call the call center at 877-252-9362 and if it’s an immediate emergency, dial 911. Clay County Fire Rescue and Clay County Sheriff’s Office responders are standing by to help.
As a reminder, don’t drive through standing water - you don’t know how deep it is. Don’t try to drive or walk through any water that has a current - you don’t know how fast it’s moving.

Sandbags:
*Sandbags are no longer being distributed.
Sandbags will be available starting Wednesday, from 8AM- 5PM. We will continue to offer bags until they are gone or if it becomes unsafe for our employees to be in the conditions. The county will refill the sites as needed. Ten bags per person. You can pick up sandbags at the following locations until supplies run out:

The municipalities are running sandbag operations in those respective areas. The county is operating a location in Fleming Island. Based on National Weather Service forecasts, county officials do not believe flooding will be an issue in the Middleburg area, but if conditions change, county officials will modify operations as necessary.
Shelters:
Special Needs Shelter opens at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 9th.

General Population shelters will open at 6 PM on Wednesday, November 9th at the following locations:

Orange Park High School – Pet Friendly
Please keep in mind that the only pets allowed are dogs, cats, rodents (such as hamsters and gerbils), rabbits, and birds. The ADA allows a miniature horse, as long as it provides a service connected to the owner's disability.
Service animals are allowed in our shelters if the owners show proof of vaccinations and the animals are on a leash.
Government Closures:
All county offices, including the County Administration Building, the Courthouse, the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency services, and libraries will be closed Thursday, November 10th, and will remain closed through Friday.
Aging True Community Senior Services and Clay County Senior Services of Aging True
Out of an abundance of caution due to the impending storm, Aging True Community Senior Services and Clay County Senior Services of Aging True will close offices, including the four senior centers, and suspend home-delivered meal operations, on Thursday and Friday. They have distributed 3-day shelf stable meals to all home-delivered meal clients and senior center participants to ensure they have meals during this time. They will resume normal operations on Monday, November 14, 2022.
Parks and Recreation
Athletic activities will be canceled Thursday and will resume Friday pending any damages to the facilities.
Camp Chowenwaw overnight reservations will be canceled Thursday and will remain canceled until our crews can complete storm assessments on Saturday.
Day guests will be allowed to visit Camp Chowenwaw, weather permitting, and should the conditions become unsafe, we will close the gates and ask visitors to leave.
Trash Pick-up:
Trash pickup is delayed Thursday and will resume on Friday.
Rosemary Hill and the ECCs will be open Friday and Saturday, weather permitting.
