GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla – The season for spring yard work is here in Clay County and as a result, the amount of yard waste placed curbside for collection has increased dramatically.
Collection crews are working hard to pick up the additional yard waste; however, routes are taking longer than usual due to the need to make extra trips to the Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Management Facility.
The curbside collection of yard waste in the unincorporated areas of Clay County and the City of Keystone Heights may be delayed by up to one day as crews work to collect the additional vegetative material. All yard waste placed curbside for Friday collection will be collected by the end of the day on Saturday. If volumes remain high next week, the Friday collection of yard waste may also be completed on Saturday. We appreciate your patience.
As a reminder, all yard waste material should be placed on the curb by 6:00 a.m. on the collection day.
Advanced Disposal/Waste Management service standards for yard waste include:
- Containerized grass clippings, leaves, and trimmings in 40-gallon or smaller cans or bags
- No can, bag, or item may exceed 50 lbs.
- Larger limbs must be cut to 4 feet in length and stacked neatly
- Total weekly pick up limited to 5 cubic yards (4’ x 4’ x 8’)
