The Clay County Historical Museum is open for tours the first and third Sunday of each month from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm or by appointment. The museum's newest exhibit celebrates the life and talent of long-time Clay County resident Slim Whitman, an international music sensation. Other exhibitions include railroad memorabilia, a country kitchen, and a country store display. Collections include hundreds of items, including early phonographs, medical equipment, cameras, typewriters, toasters, sewing machines, dolls, an elaborate dollhouse, vintage clothing, and many other items of everyday working and living.
