26 – U-Pick Sunflower Field – Amazing Grace Crop Maze, 2899 Wisteria Farm Rd., Green Cove Springs, 9:00 a.m. - Noon - Bring your family out to the farm to pick sunflowers $1 per flower. Concessions will NOT be available. Due to the construction on the farm, none of the farm attractions will be available. Guests will only be able to pick sunflowers.
Cash and credit cards are accepted.  Flowers are available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. Check social media for crop updates. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, your camera, and wear closed-toed shoes. Please bring your own cutting utensils to cut your flowers. For information about private photography sessions, please email info@agcropmaze.com.

26 - 27 – Open Track Day – The FIRM, 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. - Our “Open Track Day” events, are a great way to experience high speeds, esses, hair pin turns, and the thrill of being on track; unencumbered by traffic. We run cars in groups of 6, on our 1.5 mile track, so you get a lot of seat time, and a lot of room to improve your driving skills.

27 - Concert on the Green - St. Johns Country Day School – Bring your lawn chair or blanket so you can soak in the beauty of an outdoor concert by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra followed by fireworks. 

28 – Memorial Day Service at Magnolia Cemetery – Magnolia Cemetery, Orange Park, 9:00 a.m.

28 – Memorial Day Ceremony – Camp Blanding, 9:00 a.m. – Hosted by Post Commander Colonel Matt Johnson, with Keynote Speaker Dr. George Cressman, President of the Camp Blanding Museum & Historical Associates. Join them in honoring those who gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today.

28 – Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony – Clay County Historical Triangle TAPS Monument near the Old Clay County Courthouse, 915 Walnut Street, 10:00 a.m. – The Monument is dedicated to the 66 fallen Clay County service members.

28 – Russell Haven of Rest Memorial Day Ceremony – Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, 2335 Sandridge Rd., Green Cove Springs, 10:00 a.m. – In addition to patriotic speeches and music, there is a display of restored military vehicles and other military memorabilia. Each year we have a dynamic speaker. Should weather be an issue, we will meet at the same time and date in the Russell Baptist Church, 2299 Sandridge Rd.

28 - Memorial Day RiverFest – Spring Park, Green Cove Springs, 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. - Everyone is invited to the 30th Annual Memorial Day RiverFest in Spring Park to enjoy the wide range of events including the Opening Ceremonies honoring local veterans.  You’ll also delight in the food, arts and crafts booths and live entertainment. The day concludes with an amazing fireworks display.

 

June

2 – Fleming Island Saturday Market – Village Square Shopping Center, Fleming Island, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. each First Saturday of the month - Our Market consists of many different vendor types. Arts~Crafts~ Fresh Produce~Honey~Food~ Sweets~Jewelry~Cosmetics-Children’s Bounce house~Clothing~Accessories~ And much more! Check out our shopping center and restaurants too! Market parking is behind the buildings.

2 – Keystone Heights Community Band Concert – Keystone Beach Pavilion, 565 S. Lawrence Blvd., 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. - A Community Band for the Lakes Region with high school and adult musicians.

3 - Farmer’s & Art Market, Orange Park Town Hall, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm – Voted Best Farmer’s Market in Northeast Florida! With over 100 vendors selling fresh, local produce and homemade crafts, live music and great food, it’s sure to be fun for the entire family! Our season runs September – June. Join us on the first and third Sunday of each month.

7 – 24 - Spamalot - The Island Theater, 1860 Town Hall Circle, Fleming Island, various show times - Fans of Monty Python will be thrilled to attend a performance of Spamalot at The Island Theater.  Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail with a few liberties.  Find your grail (or ticket) at www.theislandtheater.com.

8 – Green Cove Springs Food Truck Friday – Downtown Green Cove Springs at the corner of Magnolia Ave. and Walnut St., 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – Great food and live music featuring North Florida’s own “City of Bridges”, a classic and southern rock band from Jacksonville. While you’re in Green Cove Springs, don’t forget to stop by the shops on historic Walnut St. Bring a chair and a cooler and stay awhile.

8 - 9 – Town of Orange Park Kids Fest – Orange Park Town Hall, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm - We can’t think of a better way to kick start the summer than going to Kids Fest, “The Funnest Event in Town!” Kids Fest has been voted Best Kids Entertainment two years in a row! Looking forward to its 5th year, this two-day event will be packed with kid-friendly fun. Kids and parents alike will enjoy exciting games and activities, fascinating displays, interactive shows, live music, great food and shopping! Check out all the zones during your visit. In the Imagination Station, kids can get into some messy play, become artists and learn a new thing or two. Enjoy some physical activity in the Fit Kids Block and bounce in the Inflatable Zone. Kids can even get up close to some cool vehicles in Touch-a-Truck. Bring your swim suit because you might just get wet, too!

8 – 21 (weekends only) – West Side Story, Orange Park Community Theatre, 2900 Moody Ave., Orange Park, FL 32073, Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m.

10 – Clark House Park Open House Free Tours – Carrie Clarke Park, 1039 Kingsley Ave., Orange Park, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. - The Clarke House, built in 1912, is open for tours the second Sunday of each month.  Please stop by for a visit.

16 - Historic Girl Scout Museum – Camp Chowenwaw, 9:00 -11:00 a.m. – The Museum includes a synopsis of the founder of the Girl Scouts, Juliette Low, the history of Girl Scouting in Northeast Florida and the history of the park when it was a Girl Scout Camp from 1933 to 2005. Special Tours are available other dates and times by appointment.

16 - Third Saturday - 3rd Saturday Market in the Park is an opportunity to shop and meet local business owners, vendors and craftspeople while enjoying our beautiful, historic small town and park on the St John’s River.  Shop local, relax, and enjoy your Saturdays again! Every third Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm at Spring Park located at the corner of Walnut Street and Magnolia Avenue in Green Cove Springs. Free to the public.

23- 24 - 2nd Annual Watermelon Fest - Clay County Fairgrounds, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. - Come and join the fun: watermelon eating contest, watermelon seed spitting contest, photo Opps, trackless train rides, pony rides, FREE bounce houses, FREE petting zoo, yummy food, ice cold watermelon, live entertainment, great shopping, classic car show. So much fun for everyone! Adults: $7.00, Kids: 3-12 $6.00, 2 and under free. FREE PARKING. Bring a canned good to benefit the Green Cove Springs Food Pantry and receive $1.00 off each admission.

29 – Reel Fun Night – Orange Park Town Hall Park, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Bring a blanket or a chair and join us for a movie and fun.  All movies are family friendly.   Movie:  Guardians of the Galaxy (PG13)

30 – Freedom Fest – Orange Park Mall, 5:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. – The 8th Annual Freedom Fest will kick-off with performances by local bands and artists. Shoppers are welcome to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the show in a relaxing atmosphere.  Families can take part of a bike decorating contest, bounce houses, splash park, military displays and other fun activities.  Craig Morgan takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. and the spectacular fireworks show begin at approximately 9:00 p.m.  Craig Morgan has made a name for himself as a country music icon, TV personality, celebrated outdoorsman and patriotic Army veteran. One of country music’s best-loved artists, Morgan has charted 25 songs on Billboard and thrills massive crowds with signature hits including “Bonfire,” “Almost Home,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “International Harvester,” "This Ole Boy,” “Wake Up Lovin’ You” and the four week #1, “That’s What I Love About Sunday.” Before the event, guests can take advantage of great shopping at popular Orange Park Mall retailers, including Artsy Abode, Belk, Francesca’s, Dillard’s and JCPenney.

4 – Middleburg  July 4th Parade - Middleburg, 9:00 a.m. – This annual event, sponsored by the Middleburg Civic Association, features an array of marching units, vehicles, floats and horse troops. This year’s parade route begins at Omega Park on County Road 218 and will head east towards Blanding Blvd. where it will make a U-turn near the CVS/Winn-Dixie then proceed west back to Omega Park.

4 – American Pride 4th of July, Moosehaven - Join the Town of Orange Park and Moosehaven on the 4th as we celebrate the American Pride 4th of July. This event will include food trucks, local performers and a spectacular firework display over the St Johns Rover. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with fireworks starting at 9:20 p.m. 

5-8 - Some Unprepared Remarks and Unexpected Dialogues - The Island Theater, 1860 Town Hall Circle, Fleming Island, various show times -Short plays and unique performances dominate this artistic piece.  This engaging and thought provoking series of one act plays will keep you thinking about them long after the show has ended.  Get your tickets at www.theislandtheater.com

12-22 - Peter Pan Jr. - The Island Theater, 1860 Town Hall Circle, Fleming Island, various show times - The Island Theater’s Next Generation Actors bring this British Classic to life.  For kids and grownups (who don’t want to grow up), this musical comedy classic will have you flying by the end of the show.  Get your tickets at www.theislandtheater.com

14 - Kiwita Nature Center Open House, Camp Chowenwaw, 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Explore nature exhibits and speak with park naturalists.

15– LCDR Jim Warmowski Pedaling for Safety Memorial Ride – Winn-Dixie Parking Lot, 1545 County Road 220, ride starts at 8:30 a.m. – This special event ride is open to members and non-members alike. You must sign the ride waiver to participate in the ride and to earn club points and mileage. There will be a Safety Briefing Meeting 10 minutes before the start of the ride. Please arrive at the starting point early enough to get set up before the pre-ride meeting. Helmets required on all NFBC rides.

20 – Oak Ridge Boys: Shine The Light Tour, Thrasher-Horne Center, 8:00 p.m. - The Oak Ridge Boys have one of the most distinctive and recognizable sounds in the music industry, combining classic Gospel, Country, and Patriotic music. Hear all of their chart topping hits including “Elvira,” “Bobbie Sue,” “Dream On,” “Thank God For Kids,” “American Made,” “I Guess It Never Hurts To Hurt Sometimes,” “Fancy Free,” “Gonna Take A Lot Of River,” “Y’all Come Back Saloon,” and many more.
