Letter From the Chair
Welcome to the history of Clay County. Volunteer members of the Clay County Historic Preservation Board are appointed by the Clay County Board of County Commissioners. Our regular meetings are held at 6:00 P.M., on the second Tuesday of the month, at the Historic Court House, 915 Walnut Street, Green Cove Springs, Florida, January thru June, and August thru November to discuss historical matters.
The British and Spanish periods, the Seminole Wars, the Civil War, the Resort Era, military bases, Black Creek and the St. Johns, timber and railroads; our County is rich in historical elements. Whether you're researching family history in the County Archives, or participating in one of the County's many events, or visiting one of our historical sites, we know you'll enjoy your focus on Clay County history.
