SHIP: Purchase Assistance
SHIP
funds will be used in this program for qualified persons in need of down
payment and/or closing cost assistance to purchase a new or existing
home. Up to twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) per applicant will
be allowed. This program will be for those applicants whose income
is classified as very-low, low or moderate. Those applicants
whose incomes are in the very-low or low category will be given
preference over those applicants whose incomes are in the moderate
range. Applicants must be a first-time homebuyer as defined by
Clay County first time home buyer definition.
These funds will be expended as
deferred payment loans due-on-sale or
satisfaction of the first mortgage with no interest due and no monthly
payment.
Homes cannot exceed $247,500 in total cost.
