Streets and Drainage Division
"The
mission of the Streets and Drainage Division of Public Works is to maintain and
repair county roadways, roadside drainage ditches and roadside right-of-way to
provide a safe and reliable transportation network and a stormwater system that
minimizes flooding and protects the environment."
Clay County has 601 square miles and there are approximately:
740 miles of paved roads
246 miles of dirt roads
950 miles of roadside ditches
743 miles of right-of-way mowing
24.9 miles of Outfall ditches
49 retention ponds
Accomplishing this mission is a highly trained, motivated, and dedicated
professional workforce providing quality service to the community. It is the
goal of this division to:
resolve citizen complaints in a responsive and responsible manner
utilize the most efficient and effective maintenance and repair strategies in an
effort to maximize available funds
provide expeditious response to reopen all roadways and clear stormwater after
an emergency
