The Civilian Conservation Corps built the Big Cabin dining hall as one of the first structures at the new Girl Scout Camp Chowenwaw in the 1930’s.  Except for the addition of a modern institutional kitchen and restrooms, Big Cabin stands today largely as it first greeted the Girl Scouts when the Camp opened.
