County Commissioner: Harold Rutledge
Commissioner
Harold Rutledge (Republican) is serving his first term as a Clay
County Commissioner. Harold was born in Mountain View,
California and grew up with his four brothers and sisters,
traveling with his parents. He lived in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania; Kobe, Japan; Seoul, South Korea, and in numerous
locations throughout northeast Florida. His professional career
started as a manager of a McDonald's restaurant before entering
into a career as a deputy sheriff in 1984. He earned the rank of
Lieutenant and served the citizens in Nassau and Putnam
counties. Harold served as a Sergeant in Clay County before he
was elected to the Board of County Commissioners. Harold is
married to Heather who is an emergency room nurse and they have
two children, a boy and girl. His present term runs from
November 2004 until November 2008. Commissioner Rutledge resides
on Twilight Court in Middleburg.
