Local Mitigation Strategy Meeting

The next LMS Update Working Group Meeting will be held Tuesday, November the 18th, 9am at the Clay County Emergency Operations Center, located at 2519 State Road 16 West, Green Cove Springs (on the Clay County Fairgrounds property). This particular meeting will focus on summarizing capabilities assessments of the county and its surrounding municipalities as well as beginning the process of reviewing the list of county-wide hazards and vulnerabilities. Participation on the part of the public is welcome. Skywarn Class Open to Public

On Tuesday, December 16th from 6:00 to 8:00pm the Jax National Weather Service will be teaching a Skywarn class at the Clay County Emergency Operations Center, located at 2519 SR16 West. This is a great program that introduces what to look for during severe weather events, and is open to the public. This is the BASIC understanding of weather and its impacts to our area. Thanksgiving Solid Waste Collection Schedule

Residents whose regular pickup is on Thursday will receive pickup service the Friday after Thanksgiving. Residents whose regular pickup is on Friday will receive pickup service the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Management Facility as well as the Environmental Convenience Centers will be closed Thanksgiving day.

Lane and Road Closures

Richards Road at Gordon Court- November 21 from 9:00 am through 3:00 pm Clay County Utility Authority will temporarily close this road for utility maintenance.

Mallard Road Cross Drain Replacement Project
- A section of Mallard Road (between CR 218 and Muscovy Road) will be closed to through traffic starting September 15, 2014 thru late fall of 2014. The road closure is needed to facilitate the replacement of an existing drainage pipe. A Portable Changeable Message Board will be provided for early notification.
